What is it to think?

  • To think is to exist in another world, like when we are thinking we are never actually in the present, corporeal being. Our thoughts are about our future, the 'people' and things around us.  Our thoughts are about the past, or things that have already happened and come about. When we think about the present, we are still putting 'ourselves' or 'I' in another dimension as nobody else is there with us and cannot know what we are thinking, whereas they 'are' with us in our physical being.
  • Also, things cannot change in our minds, without our permission or without us letting whoever 'I' is to pass them. In our physical being, with other people, things change beyond our control. Our physical being is inconsistent whereas our minds are whatever we want them to be.

This was a question I recieved in my Philosophy class today and it really intrigued me. Giving a quick thought, this is what I came up with so far. What do you think?
